Who We Are...

We are a non-profit organization, based out of Calgary Alberta Canada, that provides a variety of recreational and competitive sport opportunities to wheelchair athletes, coaches and volunteers. Our mission is to facilitate sport opportunities from the developmental to the elite level of participation, in the areas of athletic competition, technical development, leadership, and integration.

Our Organization

UWCSF is governed by a board of directors, comprised of volunteers, which oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization. The Board of Directors is comprised of representatives from a variety of sports. Our organization also includes Sports Coordinators who oversee specific sports and coaches to coach these sports.

UWCSF Beliefs…

• People in wheelchairs should have the same access to sport opportunities
• Wheelchair sport is important because of the intrinsic and extrinsic benefits to the participants
 • Wheelchair athletes should be recognized for their ability, not disability
 • To support all levels of athletes and coaches, from elite national team members to recreational participants
